At the beginning of the depression in 1930 Sapiens reached the 2 billion population mark. When WWII began we were 2.3 B, in 1950 2.5 billion. In 1960 we reached 3 billions. When Limits to Growth was published, we reached 3.8 billions. Now at 8 billion, how will we survive any major events, never mind these "minor" skirmishes?

In my dream the other night I saw flames to my NW where Grand Forks, ND is. Some 100 miles plus from me. Then, a giant mushroom cloud. GF is a major target because of the air base and the ICBMs in the area.
