Thanks for you writing, Mary. I, too, have had my life shattered by my service in VietNam...Agents Orange and Blue, both. I've had bladder cancer which I get tested for each year now, heart disease which necessitated open heart surgery, chloracne, neuropathy...I lost a dear friend last year from bladder cancer due to Agent Orange exposure.

Think of the millions of people who are affected by Agent Orange in SE Asia...and our relentless bombing campaigns. We haven't learned anything...we still fight wars which enrich the arms industry, etc. And, not to mention, our proxy wars.

Had Henry Wallace not been taken off the ticket in 1944, and Truman replacing him as the VP candidate, we may have never dropped the atomic bombs on Japan. That wasn't Henry Wallace's style. He was a man of the people...all people. When FDR died in April, Truman became POTUS, giving the order in August to bomb Japan.
