Vietnam Veterans’ Day, 29 March 2024

I have a problem in recollection of our/my role in Vietnam. It’s ironic, but I can hear our politicians speaking much the same words as Putin is now. We were “needed” to fight the communists, and free the breakaway south from the shackles of the government in the North. We bombed, and destroyed so much. Agent Orange still leaves a legacy of disfigurement in many lives and took the life of a grand friend of mine in the past year, Danny Lopez, from bladder cancer which I also contracted and hopefully am rid of forever.
